Planning ahead is absolutely essential, and Sam Sykes™ pays uncompromising attention to detail when organising an expedition. Every aspect of a plan is carefully scrutinised and thorough risk assessments are undertaken. The team's expertise in delivering expeditions, for the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme and independently, provides a greater understanding of the issues which may arise during an expedition, and a detailed knowledge of how to overcome them. Throughout the expedition, the members of the Sam Sykes™ team continually re-evaluate environmental circumstances and group performance, ensuring that the expedition participants enjoy a challenge but are never put at risk.

DofE Approved

Sam Sykes'™ experience in delivering bespoke Duke of Edinburgh Award expeditions has enabled the company to become an Approved Activity Provider for the expedition section of the Award, as well as offering professional advice on all aspects of the scheme.

AALA Licenced

The Adventure Activities Licensing Authority is the government body, and part of HSE, that assesses, regulates and monitors outdoor activity provision and ensures the safety of all participants. Insurance

Sam Sykes™ is fully insured for outdoor activities and holds public liability as well as employee liability insurance with Activities Industry Mutual. Personal accident insurance cover is available through the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme.

Qualifications

All staff are fully qualified in delivering expeditions and hold a range of qualifications awarded by national governing bodies in the field of outdoor activities, with first aid a particular area of focus.
